Politics and Women Parts

8 Nov

I am *not* a political person—by that I mean, I don’t spend a lot of time debating politics—foreign policies, the economy, immigration laws, the environment, etc, etc, etc.  I just don’t.  I care about these issues, but I’m not one to get fired up about these matters and go on public crusades to make my opinions known or heard.

However, when it comes to my faith and it being persecuted, you better believe I have a few things to say about. it  I am heartbroken over the election results.  Just heartbroken.

Last night some obnoxious person on twitter announced “My vagina is happy now” once Obama was declared the winner.  Seriously.  That comment makes me simultaneously want to throw up and scream profanities.  I imagine this lady was referring to the “win” in the pro-choice world.

Unfortunately for people like me, that means that the amazing pro-life doctors who have given their lives to helping couples (like Jason and I) achieve and maintain pregnancy will be forced to shut their doors because they refuse to perform abortions because of THEIR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS!

Yes—I believe my religious freedoms are being sucked dry in this “free” country.

It makes me angry, upset, and very prayerful.  But, the human in me just doesn’t understand.

A few Facebook statuses yesterday had this sweet message—God loves me, and you, and Obama, and Romney—so let’s remember to love one another.  Well DUH!  Of course He does and yes we are called to love one another (it is the greatest commandment after all).  BUT—God loves us SO much that He gave us the gift of free will and an ability to form our conscience so that we can do good to build up His Kingdom.  I’m confident that you will not find it anywhere in the Bible that killing innocent babies is a way to build up His Kingdom.

Nope—it’s not in there.

What gets me more is I know so many women who express the deep pain of a miscarriage, knowing that they lost a beautiful baby, but in the next breath will say it is OK to kill a baby if it is a woman’s choice.  I just do not understand that thinking.  You recognize it is a LIFE, yet it is OK to kill it.  How is that being Christ like?  How is that loving one another?

As Mother Teresa so beautifully states, “"I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child – a direct killing of the innocent child – murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love, and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts. Jesus gave even his life to love us. So the mother who is thinking of abortion, should be helped to love – that is, to give until it hurts her plans, or her free time, to respect the life of her child… Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching the people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.”

I’ve always said that I am a CHRISTIAN before I am a Republican or Democrat or any other political party.  My political stances always come down to LIFE issues—because without LIFE, none of these issues matter.

Election results like this place an urgency in my heart to turn to my Lord and My God, who has already defeated all of this nonsense:  "Let not your hearts be troubled, believe in God, believe also in me…. I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 14:1, 16:33)."

Amen, friends.  Pray, unceasingly pray.

This election doesn’t make me mad inasmuch as it breaks my heart to see how many souls have been corrupted through the blinding lies the devil has spun through this myth called tolerance. If these souls could see the light and truth, hatred would cease and ethics and morals would prevail, instead of destruction disguised as promises for a “better life”. My heart truly weep for these countless deaths they will be.accountable for through their ignorance.
